THE ENTHUSIAST

When Ernst first embarked on his journey to learn the art of winemaking in Germany, he was not content with simply obtaining a qualification – he vowed that he would not return until he was fully deserving of the title “Wine Enthusiast”. To this day, Ernst wears this title with pride, and our Enthusiast range was created as a tribute to his drive, determination and passion for his craft.

THE ENTHUSIAST SAUVIGNON BLANC

Winemaker’s Notes:

Pale straw colour. Gooseberries and lemongrass on the nose, while the palate offers beautiful passion fruit and other tropical aromas. Crisp, long succulent finish.

Chef’s Notes:

A lively fresh acidity and a quirky sherbet-lemon finish round off a crowd-pleasing wine which is great on its own or with a summer salad.

THE ENTHUSIAST CABERNET SAUVIGNON / MERLOT

Winemaker’s Notes:

Plush black and red fruits, with crunchy tannins and spicy undertones. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. Deep, brooding purple hues are trailed by inviting aromas of black cherries, mulberries, plums and a hint of spice. The plush fruit core is beautifully arranged around a backbone of ripe tannins, creating a harmonious wine, fit for everyday consumption.

Chef’s Notes:

Serve at ± 18 degrees Celsius. The tannins in this wine will stand up to the richness of fatty meats like beef and lamb – the combination of the two will result in a smoother mouth feel.
